4. Cu Chi Tunnel (Day 3)

The Củ Chi tunnel is an immense network of connecting underground tunnels built by the Viet Cong using simple tools during the Vietnam War.

Viet Cong also was known as the National Liberation Front, was a mass political organization in South Vietnam with its own army form mostly by farmers and ordinary citizen with no military knowledge.

The Viet Cong built this complex tunnels to save themselves from all the bombardment by the American army.

Underground meeting room

The tunnels is fill with pockets of room that serve different function to the Viet Cong who is living underground. There is no map available hence they have to remember all the underground route.

Explore and crawl into the tunnels. If you are claustrophobic than this is not the activities for you as the tunnels are so tight and some part can be challenging.

You would probably see photos like this all over Instagram if you search for Cu Chi Tunnel. This is probably the smallest entrance to the Cu Chi Tunnel.

5. Independence Palace (Reunification Palace) (Day 3)

This is probably the landmark of Ho Chi Minh City that you do not want to miss. The palace used to be home to former President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

6. Saigon Central Post Office (Day 4)


This Central Post Office was constructed between 1886 and 1891. Once inside you will find yourself travelling back in time with it’s intricately designed marble floors, looping arches and antiquated telephone boxes.

7. Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica (Day 4)

This church is located just beside the Saigon Central Post Office. It is currently going through a renovation when we were there.

The Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral was established between 1863 and 1880 by French Colonists. It is also one of the landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City due to its architecture, history and also located in the most crowded district of Saigon.

1. Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot temple is one of 10 most visited temple in Bali. It is bustling with tourist everyday. Tanah Lot temple is situated on a top of a large black rock. During high tides, the access way from the beach to the temple will be filled by the ocean.

There is also a small fee of IDR 60,00 (SGD$6.00) for adults and IDR 30,000 (SGD$3.00) for child to enter the temple.

2. Uluwatu water temple

3. Tegalalang Rice Terraces

If you ever googled Ubud, there is a good chance that you have seen the Instagram worthy photographs of Tegalalang Rice Terrace. This stunning rice terrace is hard to miss when you are traveling around Ubud area. As it is a popular tourist spot to take some breathtaking photos, the terrace is well maintained by the locals hence the green foliage around the rice terrace create an amazing pattern. It is totally free to visit but do expect wet mud if you want to step into the rice terrace.

4. Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave)

Goa Gajah also known as Elephant Cave is an archaeological site which was discovered by Dutch Archaeologist in 1923. The exact origin of the cave are uncertain but it is believed to be a place for spiritual mediation.

Explore the Ancient relics there but do take note that everyone who enters the place has to wear a sarong waist down which can be rented there and women who is having their peroid are forbidden to enter.

5. Mount Batur

There are 2 ways to view this active volcano. You can either take a 2 hours hike or take a car/drive up to Kintamani village. We decided to take the easy way out and have our guide drive us up to view the breathtaking Mount Batu. You can also enjoy your meal while having an amazing view.

6. Jimbaran Beach

Jimbaran Bay has 40 restaurants that feature a beachside open-air eatery style. Enjoy the sunset there while having your romantic dinning experience with your love ones. Over the years it has bloom into a famous tourist spot hence the price can be alittle more upscale compare to other restaurant in Bali. But for the view I guess it is worth a try.

7. Tegenungan Waterfall

This is one of the hidden gem we found in Bali.  The fees to enter is 15,000 Rp (SGD$1.50). To reach the waterfall you would need to hike another 10 minutes from the ticket booth. It will be crowded after 1pm we if you wish to avoid crowd we recommend you to visit this place early.
