1. Coober Pedy, Australia

It is a underground city in Australia. In this city, actual people live and serve as the miners. The city is also called ‘Opal Capital of the world’. The city is very fascinating due to the co-existence of mines with shops, homes, and restaurants. Apart from mining, the reason behind this city is to get shelter from extreme heat of Sothern Australia. Despite of being underground, this is a pretty amazing, cozy and friendly place. There is also a graveyard and church in that area.

2. Setenil de las Bodegas, Spain

This city has also residents and people live here happily. The houses are constructed into the stonewalls. Although they are not completely underground but inside the mountains. Most of the area is kept open and it gives a fascinating look to the outsiders. This town was also used in the time of the Roman Empire.

3. Derinkuyu, Cappadocia, Turkey

This underground city is located in the central turkey. There are almost 36 underground cities present at a depth of 85m. Among all, the deepest one is derinkuyu. It was discovered in 1963 with a network of rooms and tunnels just like a regular city. The churches, stables, living quarters, wineries, storage rooms and refectories, everything is present there. In the past, the city had capacity to hold around 20,000 people.

This place was opened for public in 1965 but only 10% area can be accessible by visitors.

4. Edinburgh Vaults, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Under the streets of Scotland there is a dark world that is linked back to the 18thcentury. The Edinburgh vaults are the chambers constructed in the 19arches. They were built in 1788, that time this was a superstitious place. In that era there was great growth and expansion in the area. However, in today’s world this underground city is still considered haunted and a feel of ghastliness exist there. It is also said that serial killers bury the body of their victims at this place and later they sold these bodies for medical experiments.
